On 2020/12/29from 11 to 12 noon, a meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Vahid Haghpanah, faculty member and head of the biobank of the University Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute in the council hall of Valiasr Reproductive Health Research Center with the presence of Dr. Rashidi, the center's director and women ; Dr. Heidari and Dr. Ghaemi, faculty members of the center, and Dr. Pakdel and Ms. Haghhalahi, the research director of the center, were formed on how to equip and set up a biobank .
Dr. Rashidi, Head of the Center; Regarding the establishment of a biobank, referring to the existence of intellectual, global and academic support based in the infertility center, they provided explanations and announced that in planning the construction of a biobank; In the first stage, in cases of samples of two common diseases of women in infertility (endometriosis and PCO ) is performed and emphasized that in the continuation of the activity; Scheduling for samples from patients with cancer and oncofertility (freezing of ovarian tissue) will be added. Explaining the International Endometriosis Biobank, they also announced that the Reproductive Health Research Center has the potential to be the only Iranian center that is a member of this international site.
Regarding biobank standards, Dr. Haghpanah explained that the purpose of establishing biobanks is based on disease or population, and regarding the development of a codified plan to create a biobank with final goals; Providing biobank space with its special standards and maintaining the biobank (equipment and manpower) provided tips. Purchase of quality items and equipment, especially for cry vials, and the need for emergency power for freezers without CO2 Back up ; Two points were necessary and emphasized by him in equipping the biobank.
Regarding endometriosis and biobank specialized SOPs ; The translation and localization of these forms and the challenges of the biobank and the equipment and alarm system for setting up the biobank were discussed and discussed by Dr. Ghaemi and Dr. Heidari. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Pakdel, considering his previous visit to the Biobank of the Research Institute, explained about attracting the participation of donors to help finance the start-up costs of the Biobank and its benefits for patients across the country. It was also decided that the final proposal will be completed in more detail and after the approval of Dr. Rashidi, a letter will be sent to the donors to provide funding.
